The Natural Preservative For Concrete Retarder Sodium Gluconate Retarder Admixture For Concrete concrete retarding agent
In construction applications, sodium gluconate is primarily used as a concrete admixture. It can be added to concrete to help reduce the water demand, increase the fluidity of concrete, and improve workability. Sodium gluconate can also help minimise segregation, shrinkage, and bleeding in concrete mixes.
Sodium gluconate improved the compressive strength at 3 and 28 days, delayed cement setting and increased the fluidity of the Portland cement mortar. Less than 0.03% sodium gluconate promoted the formation of ettringite (AFt) at early age.
Sodium gluconate is used as a natural preservative. It prevents the growth of microbes in our products to keep them safe for our consumers. It also works as a chelator (or sequestrant) which helps cleansing products to foam better in hard water.
Sodium gluconate is generally considered safe for the skin and hair. It is non-comedogenic and does not typically cause allergic reactions, but it is still recommended to do a patch test. Sodium gluconate is vegan and halal, as it is derived from plant-based sources and does not contain animal products.
