Wetting And Dispersion Agent PT550 Dispersing Agents Wetting Agents For Construction Concrete Mortar Plaster
A wetting agent is a surface-active molecule used to reduce the surface tension of water. The high surface tension of water is problematic in many applications where spreading and penetration of water is required. These include for example paints and other coating formulations, detergents, pesticides, and others.
Wetting agents primarily focus on reducing the surface tension of liquids to enhance their spreading and wetting properties on surfaces. Dispersing agents focus on preventing the agglomeration or settling of particles in a liquid, promoting uniform dispersion.
Wetting agents are surface-active substances and improve the wetting of solids. Dispersing agents prevent particles flocculating by various mechanisms (electrostatic effects, steric effects). Wetting and dispersing additives unite both mechanisms of action in one product, i.e. they are both wetting and stabilizing.
